The icon we present today is painted in the technique of icons on glass (on its back). The drawing, made after an model turned “in the mirror”, is outlined in ink. The painting technique is tempera with egg emulsion. The painted glass is placed in a wooden frame, and for protection, on the back of the glass, a wooden cover is applied.

Within the proiect “Innovative Techniques in Cultural Heritage Valorisation. The Icons on Sebeș Valley in the Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography collection ”, the restoration activity carried out by the experts was an extremely complex one.
Use of virtual reality equipment – INTERACTIVE TABLE.

On Thursday, 21st of October 2021, the training ‘Techniques and equipment of virtual reality using in exploitation the innovative exhibitions’ within the project ‘Innovative Techniques in Cultural Heritage Valorisation. The Icons on Sebeș Valley in the Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography collection’, financed with the support of EEA Grants 2014 – 2021 within the RO-CULTURE Programme had also a second part, a practical and interactive one, that allowed participants to explore the advantages of using equipment of virtual reality, used in exploitation of innovative exhibitions.
The course took place at the main building of the Transylvanian Museum of Ethnography (Reduta Palace).
